Our homes are designed to provide children and young people with a safe, comfortable and nurturing place to live, supported by consistent care and positive relationships.
We aim to create homes that feel welcoming and homely rather than institutional, where children can experience everyday routines, develop their interests, build confidence and make positive progress.
Our children’s home in Greenwich, Kidbrooke, provides residential care for up to three children and young people.
Keeping the home small allows us to provide a more individualised and relationship-focused approach to care.
The home is arranged to provide children with an appropriate balance between their own personal space and shared areas where they can spend time together, relax, take part in activities and enjoy ordinary day-to-day home life.

Our Greenwich home accommodates a maximum of three children.
We believe a smaller residential setting provides greater opportunity for staff to understand each child’s individual needs, experiences, strengths and aspirations.
It also supports consistency, meaningful relationships and a calmer home environment.
Care is organised around the individual child rather than expecting the child to fit around the service.
We want children and young people to experience ordinary and positive aspects of home life.
Daily routines may include preparing and sharing meals, relaxing together, completing schoolwork, pursuing hobbies, taking part in activities and celebrating achievements and special occasions.
Children are encouraged to contribute to decisions about everyday life in the home and, according to their age and individual needs, develop increasing responsibility and independence.
Every placement is considered individually.
Before a child comes to live with us, we consider their needs carefully to ensure that the home can provide appropriate care and that the proposed placement is compatible with the needs of other children already living there.

Being part of the local community is an important aspect of residential care.
Our Greenwich location enables children and young people to participate in education, leisure, recreational and community activities appropriate to their individual needs and interests.
Young people are encouraged to develop interests outside the home, build appropriate social connections and gain confidence in accessing their community.
We take a whole-child approach to care.
Children are supported to engage with education and to access appropriate health and wellbeing services.
We work collaboratively with schools, local authorities, healthcare professionals and other agencies to help ensure that each young person’s needs are understood and supported consistently.
Safeguarding is central to the way our homes operate.
We aim to provide an environment in which children feel safe, listened to and able to raise concerns.
Our approach includes clear safeguarding procedures, appropriate staffing, safer recruitment, staff training, supervision, professional oversight and effective partnership working with relevant agencies.
Our role extends beyond providing accommodation.
We want children and young people living in our homes to develop their strengths, increase their confidence and have opportunities to achieve.
For some children, progress may mean returning to education, developing more stable relationships or becoming more confident in expressing their views.
For others, it may involve learning practical skills, increasing independence or preparing for the next stage of their lives.
Progress looks different for every child, and our care reflects this.
